2025 Wisconsin Friesian Keuring

Keuring 2025 – All Purebred Friesian horses (Mainbook, bbI, bbII)
Looking ahead, we’re thrilled to host the Midwest Friesian Keuring on October 7–8, 2025, at Heartland Stables in Custer, WI. This is an amazing opportunity, and we hope to carry on this beloved tradition with your help.
Each North American Keuring site must register a minimum of 24 horses to remain eligible to host a Keuring in 2025. If a site has less than 24 entrees it may be in jeopardy of being cancelled. If a site is cancelled for this reason a decision will be made by Aug. 15th, 2025.
And what an opportunity to have your horse(s) judged and ranked by some of the top judges from the Netherlands! Having 24 horses helps keep the Keuring circuit viable and will allow GLFHA to continue the tradition in 2026. As the saying goes, “use it or lose it.” We certainly don’t want to lose it and it’s time to showcase the Friesian horse! Acceptance in the studbook is the single most important thing you can do for your Friesian horse!
If you’ve never participated in a Keuring before, don’t worry—it can feel a bit overwhelming, but you won’t be alone. Several members are more than happy to guide you through the process. All mainbook and bbII, bbI horses can be judged at this Keuring. Just be sure to:
- Register your horse with FHANA by their stated deadline for the inspection.
- Register separately with the Great Lakes Friesian Horse Association. This is important because our chapter is financially responsible for the site, including stabling, facility fees, and compliance with state equine regulations.
Please let us know if you will be attending so we can be better prepared going forward and feel free to contact Heidi Born Smith if you have any questions at (715) 321-1668 or heidi@wctc.net.
