    Fall Trail Ride in Wisconsin 2025

     Join Us for a Fall Trail Ride in Wisconsin!  The GLFHA Chapter is excited to host a scenic fall trail ride on October 19th—location to be determined based on weather conditions. Whether you have a horse to ride or drive, or just want to enjoy the day, you’re warmly invited!  If the trail ride is a wash-out, we will still meet at a central location for food and fun!  More information to follow.  Post-Ride Potluck We’ll gather for a potluck after the ride, with delicious grilled meat provided by GLFHA. Just bring a dish to share and your appetite!  All Are Welcome You don’t need to own a Friesian—or any horse at all—to be part of the fun. Come enjoy the natural beauty only Wisconsin can offer and chat with fellow horse lovers. Friends and newcomers encouraged! Thank you for being an essential part of our Friesian community. With your support, we can continue to grow and celebrate these beautiful horses together.

    GLFHA 2025 Summer Fun Get-Together

    Join us for a fun afternoon of camaraderie with fellow Friesian owners or just Friesian fans at the Knowlton House Distillery.  You do not need to be a member to join us for this fun afternoon. Appetizers are provided by GLFHA, food is available on site. Please note: I-39 exit 175 is closed through early July. Use the DB exit.

    2025 Wisconsin Friesian Keuring

    Keuring 2025 – All Purebred Friesian horses (Mainbook, bbI, bbII) Looking ahead, we’re thrilled to host the Midwest Friesian Keuring on October 7–8, 2025, at Heartland Stables in Custer, WI. This is an amazing opportunity, and we hope to carry on this beloved tradition with your help. Each North American Keuring site must register a minimum of 24 horses to remain eligible to host a Keuring in 2025. If a site has less than 24 entrees it may be in jeopardy of being cancelled. If a site is cancelled for this reason a decision will be made by Aug. 15th, 2025. And what an opportunity to have your horse(s) judged and ranked by some of the top judges from the Netherlands! Having 24 horses helps keep the Keuring circuit viable and will allow GLFHA to continue the tradition in 2026. As the saying goes, “use it or lose it.” We certainly don’t want to lose it and it’s time to showcase the Friesian horse!
